A man who introduced himself as a single woman on an application and met her sued for damages and alimony and won.

According to the legal community, on the 19th, the Changwon District Court ruled that in a lawsuit for damages filed by a man, A, against a married woman, B, the plaintiff should pay 60 million won in damages depending on the cause of the claim.

Ms. B introduced her husband as her brother-in-law and her children as her nephews to Mr. A, and continued their relationship by lying about the fact that she was married for nearly a year. In addition, he borrowed money from Mr. A about 100 times for reasons such as living expenses and repaying his father's debt, and when Mr. A asked him to repay the money, he blocked his calls and messages and did not repay the money.

Person A, who found this strange, went to Person B's house and learned that both his employment information and family relationship information were false. Afterwards, Mr. A filed a lawsuit against Mr. B demanding damages and alimony.

Accordingly, the court deemed that the woman had caused damage through an illegal act and ruled that she should pay compensation of 60 million won in damages.

According to a civil lawyer from Daeryun Law Firm, who served as the litigation representative at the time, “We have decided to file a lawsuit for damages as a married person has lied about being single and repeatedly caused financial losses,” and added, “We are in the process of filing a lawsuit for fraud with a criminal lawyer for matters involving unpaid money, such as misappropriation of cash due to deceptive acts.”
