Daeryun Law Firm recruits former Seoul Western Police Chief Yeon Myeong-heum

“Strengthening criminal response capabilities with abundant investigative experience and case analysis capabilities”

Daeryun Law Firm recruited Yeon Myeong-heum (Judicial Research and Training Institute 34th class), former chief of Seoul Western Police Station, as chief general counsel and strengthened its criminal response capabilities.

Attorney Yeon Myeong-heum started out as the head of the investigation department at the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul in 2007, and held key positions including the special investigation chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the chief of the Anseong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, and the chief of the Seoul Western Police Station. While serving as a police officer for over 20 years, he directly investigated and commanded major criminal and economic crime cases, such as large-scale apartment remodeling corruption and similar gasoline manufacturing cases, and is evaluated as a person with both field sense and expertise.

In particular, he showed a strong presence in the inspection field by playing an active role in various difficult cases such as cybercrime investigations into North Korean hacker organizations, illegal receipt of solar power subsidies, and corruption of metropolitan city personnel managers.

In addition, Attorney Yeon contributed extensively to internal police training, including as chair of the 2015 police promotion examination committee and consulting on legal issues for police officers across the country. In addition, he taught lectures on constitutional trials at the National Police Academy, solidifying his position as a legal expert connecting investigative and judicial agencies.

Attorney Yeon said, "I now want to implement the experience I have accumulated in the field of investigation into legal services to protect the rights and interests of the people at Daeryun, a large law firm. I will fulfill my role as a practical lawyer who can penetrate the essence of the dispute and respond quickly and elaborately."

Meanwhile, Daeryun operates a criminal group and special action headquarters to respond to high-level criminal cases such as violent, economic, and public crimes, and is building a client-centered rapid response system from the beginning of the investigation to the trial stage.
