Recruits a Host of Aces from the National Tax Service and More
Direct Collaboration with U.S. Law Firms as Well
Beyond Advisory to Total Care Service
Amid a recent surge in cross-border tax and customs risks driven by the reorganization of global supply chains and the expanded overseas advance of domestic companies, Daeryun LLC has expanded and reorganized its dedicated organization.
Daeryun announced on the 17th that it has recruited a host of hands-on core personnel from the National Tax Service's International Investigation Bureau and elsewhere. Through this organizational strengthening, it has built a one-stop response system for the tax and customs issues companies face, such as international transaction investigation response, tax audits, tax appeals, and customs investigations.
In particular, based on collaboration with its U.S. partner law firm SJKP, it plans to strengthen integrated advisory capabilities for overseas investment and international transactions, global tariff policy changes, international trade regulation, and cross-border disputes.
The group is led by Attorney Park Seong-jun, head of the International Tax and Customs Group. Attorney Park is an expert who holds all of the qualifications of judge, prosecutor, and Certified Public Accountant (CPA); he built expertise in the tax field while serving as a tax-crime investigation review committee member of the Busan Regional Tax Office, and handled criminal, civil, and administrative cases during roughly 17 years as a prosecutor and judge.
In the tax field, led by Attorney Oh Sang-wook, who has served at numerous tax offices, Attorney Lim Ha-yeon, formerly of the National Tax Service's Taxpayer Protection Officer's Office, takes charge of the core of tax appeals and tax audit response. Adding to this, CPA Park Su-jin, who has abundant hands-on experience at European local companies, joins to add precision to global tax risk analysis.
Newly joining this time, Attorney Kim Hwa-young and tax accountant Kim Hyun-woo make the international tax response line even more solid. Attorney Kim Hwa-young is a hands-on expert who has been dedicated to major tax litigation cases on the front lines, such as at the Seoul Regional Tax Office's International Investigation Bureau. Tax accountant Kim Hyun-woo, from a large tax firm, provides in-depth know-how across corporate taxation as a whole, from tax audit response for large and mid-sized companies to M&A advisory and venture investment financial due diligence.
The customs field is led by customs specialist commissioners Myung Jae-ho and Kim Dae-ryun, who are well-versed in trade regulation. Beyond general import/export clearance and customs investigation response, they present advanced global trade risk management solutions for recently emerging issues such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, supply chain due diligence, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and strategic goods export controls.
Through this, Daeryun's International Tax and Customs Group plans to provide a 'total care service' encompassing everything from advance risk diagnosis to post-facto tax litigation, beyond simple legal advisory.
Group head Park Seong-jun explained, "International tax and customs issues are now directly linked to a company's global survival strategy, beyond a simple tax matter," adding, "Through this organizational expansion, we have completed a preemptive advisory system that intervenes from the international transaction structure design stage, not just the post-facto appeal procedure."
He continued, "Going forward, we will actively utilize our global network, including SJKP, to swiftly and precisely break through the regulatory hurdles that span borders, so that companies can devote themselves entirely to management even amid a complex trade environment, and we will build the optimal line of defense."
