Amid the growing entry of domestic companies into Southeast Asia, Daeryun LLC is expanding its global network to support their push into the Thai market.
Daeryun LLC announced on the 30th that its global partner law firm SJKP has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Thai law firm Lorenz & Partners (L&P), strengthening cross-border legal and investment advisory capabilities for Korean companies entering the Thai and Southeast Asian markets.
The signing ceremony, held via video on the 13th, was attended by Kim Kook-il, CEO of Daeryun, CEO Park Dong-il, and Till Morstadt, managing partner of L&P.
Founded in 1995, L&P is a law firm active in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as Berlin, Germany, Hong Kong, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It has strengths in investment structure design under Thailand's Foreign Business Act (FBA), establishment of manufacturing facilities, licensing and administrative procedures, foreign direct investment (FDI), and regulatory compliance.
Through this agreement, the two firms decided to cooperate in various fields, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transaction structure design and international tax planning as financial and legal advisory, cross-border investment structure design, foreign direct investment and local regulatory response, antitrust dispute resolution, and mutual client referrals and joint representation.
The plan is to provide corporate clients with a one-stop service that combines legal, financial, and strategic advisory, reducing regulatory risks that may arise during entry into Thailand and supporting a local landing.
Till Morstadt, CEO of L&P, said, "It is meaningful to support Korean companies' successful entry into Thailand together with the globally competitive SJKP," adding, "By combining our experience in local regulatory response with SJKP's cross-border advisory capabilities, we will provide companies with optimal services."
Kim Kook-il, CEO of Daeryun, said, "In global business, it is important to accurately understand local regulations and design the optimal investment structure," adding, "With this agreement as a turning point, we have become able to provide broader global legal services to domestic companies pursuing entry into Thailand and Southeast Asia."
Since its establishment in New York, U.S., last year, SJKP has been expanding cooperation with global law firms and consulting companies centered on international disputes, investment, and taxation. Daeryun plans to strengthen support for domestic companies' overseas expansion based on its global network including SJKP.
