A conflict has arisen at a construction site with a subcontractor over the settlement of construction costs. There are clear provisions in the contract, but the other party does not acknowledge the additional construction costs. I am curious what the best legal course of action we can take in such a construction dispute would be.

The outcome of a construction dispute can vary depending on the interpretation of the contract, whether prior approval was obtained for the additional work, and whether supporting documentation is secured.
It is best first to attempt negotiation on the basis of the contract provisions, and if necessary, you may also make use of alternative dispute resolution procedures such as conciliation and arbitration.
Because litigation takes a long time and is costly, it is advantageous to seek a prompt resolution through arbitration or conciliation.
If you have materials that can prove the justification for the additional work, such as instruction sheets, emails, and official documents, they will help in resolving the dispute.
You should establish a response strategy by comprehensively analyzing matters such as the actual manner in which the work was performed and the situation at the site.
If necessary, Daeryun provides comprehensive support, from reviewing the relevant materials to filing for conciliation, representing you in arbitration proceedings, and proceeding with litigation.
If you send materials such as the contents of conversations, the contract, and the construction log, more specific advice is possible.
If possible, we recommend conducting a legal review within a short time and responding proactively.
