Recently, I found out that my child is being bullied at school. At first, I thought it was just playful teasing among friends, but it turned out my child had been continuously ostracized and had belongings taken away. My child is very anxious, and as a parent, I am extremely worried. In a situation like this, I would like to know where school violence should be reported and what procedure for reporting school violence is followed. Also, I am worried whether retaliation or further bullying might occur after reporting... and I would like to know whether measures such as protection for my child's safety can be provided.

The procedure for reporting school violence can be initiated as soon as harm is confirmed or suspected, through a report by a guardian or a tip from a third party.
As part of the procedure for reporting school violence, you can first notify the school, the homeroom teacher, or the school violence task force.
This is the most basic procedure for reporting school violence, and you can report to the school your child attends or to a teacher.
Once the report is received, the school violence task force will begin the relevant investigation.
As another method, reporting directly to the District Office of Education is available.
If the school's response is inadequate or there is a concern about secondary harm, you can report directly to the Student Life Support Center of the competent District Office of Education.
In addition, it is also possible to use the School Violence Report Center (117).
If you also want to file a report with the police for criminal punishment, you can report to the police at 112.
In the case of serious school violence subject to criminal punishment, such as assault, intimidation, coercion, or sexual harassment, a report leads to an investigation.
If you are worried about your child's safety after reporting, it is advisable to request assistance from a private security company or a law firm that provides security services.
Through this, with the guardian's consent, you can receive tailored personal protection services, such as accompaniment to and from school, patrols around the residence, and measures for the victim's psychological stability.
School violence is not a mere dispute between students but a serious infringement of rights and a warning sign.
We recommend that you first secure your child's safety together with an expert and then respond according to the procedures.
