I converted a sole proprietorship into a corporation and have operated it for several years. I am trying to wind down the business, and people around me say there is also a way to sell the corporation itself. I am curious whether the sale of a corporation is possible and, if so, how it is carried out.

The sale of a corporation is carried out in two ways.
It takes the form of a share sale method, in which the company's equity is sold, or an asset sale method, in which specific assets or business divisions of the company are sold.
This is a form of M&A and refers to a corporate transaction.
To sell a corporation, you must first assess the company's value, establish a sale strategy, and prepare for the sale.
After that, you must go through a process of searching for potential buyers, in which you seek out and contact suitable buyers.
Once a buyer is decided, you conduct the buyer's due diligence on the company and then negotiate the terms of sale and conclude the final contract.
Thereafter, once you close the transaction through payment of the price and transfer of ownership, the sale-of-corporation procedure is complete.
A sale of a corporation at an appropriate time can greatly increase the company's value.
In particular, for a company with high growth potential, an appropriate sale can bring shareholders significant benefits.
In addition, the company or business division being sold may meet a more suitable owner and create synergy, which can also lead to an improvement in the efficiency of the industry as a whole.
