My husband's verbal abuse and control have worsened, and I am ultimately preparing for divorce litigation. However, I am very afraid because I am told that I must face my husband directly during the trial or conciliation process. Is there a way to avoid facing my husband even at the court, or a system through which I can receive personal protection? If there is a family court attorney, please reply.

Even during divorce litigation, you can request institutional measures to protect the victim's personal safety through a family court attorney.
First, where a physical or mental threat is recognized due to verbal abuse or assault, you can, together with a report, apply through the police for the following emergency provisional measures.
∙ Removal from and isolation, such as eviction, from the residence or occupied room of the victim or a family member
∙ A prohibition on approaching within 100 meters of the residence, workplace, and the like of the victim or a family member
∙ A prohibition on approaching the victim or a family member by means of telecommunications
If this measure is issued, your husband will be unable to approach within a certain distance or to contact you.
In addition, if a family court attorney accompanies you, direct face-to-face contact can be minimized even in the courtroom, and if necessary, you can additionally apply to the court for a victim protection order and receive an access prohibition and the like.
Nevertheless, if anxiety continues while the divorce litigation is ongoing, it is advisable to also consider ways to strengthen your safety net through a private security service.
If you consult a family court attorney, you can pursue the legal procedures and personal protection measures simultaneously.
