LSD is a strongly regulated substance classified under category (a) of psychotropic drugs, and the severity of punishment varies greatly depending on the related conduct.

If, for the purpose of manufacturing LSD, a person manufactures·exports/imports·possesses·owns a raw material, Article 58 of the Act on the Control of Narcotics applies, and a heavy sentence of life imprisonment or imprisonment for at least 5 years may be imposed.

On the other hand, if a person administers LSD, or provides a means of transport to assist in administering it, under Article 60 of the same Act, imprisonment for up to 10 years or a fine of up to 100 million won is possible.

However, in an actual trial, the punishment may be aggravated depending on whether it was mere administration, whether there was distribution·solicitation conduct, and the scale of the handling.

Even for a first-time offender, in the case of an LSD drug crime, the possibility of an actual custodial sentence fully exists.
